I experienced one of my best ever consultant consultations with Prof Reid. He was courteous, welcoming, and took my concerns seriously. He was unhurried, and explained my condition comprehensively. He then explained management options leaving me well informed to make some intelligent choices. In all it was a very pleasant experience

As an additional comment to my previous review. This Professor is absolutely outstanding. After my mum's severe osteoporosis diagnosis, he recommended some cancer tests to ensure she could start treatment safely. Sadly the tests came back positive and so he was contacted through his secretary while he was away on an intensive course with large time difference. To our amazement, within about 2 hours he had dictated a letter for a top specialist he recommended, and given his gut feel as to what was wrong. In addition, he answered all of our questions and with this letter mum was seen within 3 days by this very booked up specialist and had the majority of tests she needed done that day (which Prof Reid had recommended and which they absolutely agreed with). The UCH is outstanding for myeloma, and the cancer specialist said to us, whoever you saw is absolutely on top of his game. Not only that, he cares and was speedy with everything. Just a totally amazing man, who has given my mum the best chance. I will be thanking him in person.
